The music is from a prelude for organ, by Johann Sebastian Bach.  He lived between 1865 and 1750.  He is the outstanding member of a family of musicians who, during six generations, produced a continuous line of composers. The "Passion according to St Matthew" is one of his chief works.

Laudate Dominum

O be joyful in the Lord, all you lands: serve the Lord with gladness; and come before his presence with a song.

Be sure that the Lord is God; it is he who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

O enter his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful to him, and speak good of his Name.

For the Lord is gracious; his mercy is everlasting: and his truth endres from generation to generation.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son: and to the Holy Spirit..

As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be: world without end. Amen.
